Jim Godbout, a dedicated contributor to Biddeford High School athletics and various community initiatives, has been inducted for his significant roles in youth sports, field renovations, and developing local youth programs, earning notable recognitions including the Foundation Pillars of Pride Award and the Keys to the City of Biddeford and Saco.
Jim Godbout's induction as a contributor to Biddeford High School athletics highlights his extensive involvement and impact in the community. He has served as president and coach for several youth organizations across different sports, including hockey, football, and baseball. His leadership as the past President of the Biddeford Athletic Association played a pivotal role in the revitalization of Waterhouse Field in 1998 and 2003, and he continues to lead its renovation efforts as President of the Waterhouse Alumni Field Association. Beyond sports, Godbout has significantly contributed to the development of Biddeford’s downtown area and its youth programs. He also played a key role in shaping the program curriculum at the Center of Technology. His contributions have been widely recognized and appreciated, as evidenced by the inaugural Foundation Pillars of Pride Award he received in 2016, the Keys to the City of Biddeford and Saco awarded to him in 2017, and being named one of the Portland Press's “10 people in Maine to give Thanks” to in the same year. His commitment to enriching the lives of young people and enhancing community facilities underscores his dedication to the welfare and growth of the Biddeford community.
